  • Working on balance through obstacle courses, balance beams, Aerial swings, tumbling, and dance.
  • Rhythm through music, drumbeats, and lumni sticks.
  • Enjoyment and identification of sounds in music.
  • Flexibility through specialized stretch and movement associated in sports such as throwing/kicking/catching a ball, and movement patterns.
  • Strength through various exercises with weighted balls or supporting weight.
  • Creativity through dance, use of props such as balloons, scarves, ribbon wands, and more.
  • Focus by following directions in a class setting by use of sound and color.

Brucie Klay Boonstoppel has experience with special needs classes at Brucie Klay’s Dance Center and Roosevelt Elementary School. She has over 36 years of teaching experience and a BFA in Dance from Florida State University. Her goal has always been to give the joy of music and movement with functional training to help every child reach their full potential.
